“Great quote, over £100 more than other competitors. Recovery driver very helpful with my non runner van that wasn't in the easiest position to take away.”

Scrapping vans in Birmingham and the West Midlands
Birmingham operates one of the UK's most comprehensive Clean Air Zones outside London, a Class D zone covering the city centre that charges non-compliant cars, vans, and HGVs daily. For vans registered before September 2016 that don't meet Euro 6 diesel standards, the daily charge makes continued operation in the city centre uneconomical for most sole traders and small businesses.
For vans that aren't worth retrofitting and can't justify the daily charge, scrapping is the clean solution. We collect across the West Midlands conurbation, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Walsall, West Bromwich, Dudley, and beyond.
The West Midlands industrial context
The West Midlands has one of the UK's highest concentrations of manufacturing, automotive, and logistics operations outside London. That means a high density of working vans, and a high volume of end-of-life disposals. Our collection network is active across the region and collection times are consistently fast.
Scrap or salvage, which applies to your van?
Not every non-compliant or end-of-life van in Birmingham is pure scrap weight. If the engine runs, the drivetrain is intact, and the body is sound, the parts market will pay above crush price. We check both markets when you enter your reg, you get whichever number is higher.
The CAZ discount applies in the used market (buyers there face the charge); it doesn't apply in the salvage market (breakers don't operate the van). So the spread between used value and salvage value on older diesels in Birmingham has narrowed, which means scrapping or selling to salvage is often the more rational choice.
Fleet and company van disposal
If you're disposing of one company van, the standard process applies, VAT invoice, company bank account payment, CoD issued. For three or more vans, our fleet team handles bulk disposal with coordinated collection and single-invoice settlement.
Scrapping a van in Birmingham, common questions
Do you collect scrap vans from Birmingham and the West Midlands?
+
Yes, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Walsall, West Bromwich, Dudley, Solihull and surrounding areas. Enter your postcode to confirm coverage.
Birmingham has a Clean Air Zone, does that affect what I'll get for my van?
+
The Birmingham CAZ charges non-compliant vans daily to drive in the zone. This has reduced the used-market value of older diesel vans in the city, but salvage prices aren't affected the same way, the parts market doesn't operate those vans. Enter your reg for an offer.
Will you scrap a fleet van owned by a West Midlands business?
+
Yes. Company-owned vans are routine. We handle the VAT paperwork and pay to the company bank account. For three or more vans, talk to our fleet team.
How quickly can you collect in Birmingham?
+
Usually within 24–48 hours of accepting the offer. We cover the West Midlands conurbation as standard.
Do I need to drain fluids or do anything to prepare the van?
+
No. Leave it as it sits. The authorised treatment facility handles all depollution, fluids, battery, refrigerant, as part of the licensed process.
